Harbor Lakes Golf Club – Granbury, Texas
The Argyle Lady Eagles battle difficult conditions and deliver one of their strongest early-season performances, charging up the leaderboard to finish second at the Lady Pirate Classic in Granbury.
Mother Nature makes the opening round a challenge from the start. A thunderstorm forces a 2 1/2-hour delay on Friday, and when play resumes, the Lady Eagles face a saturated Harbor Lakes course that demands patience, toughness, and disciplined ball-striking. Argyle handles it well enough to keep itself firmly in the hunt.
Ryan Purczynski leads the way in round one with a 75, one of the lowest scores of the day and a round that keeps the Lady Eagles within striking distance. Colbie Moses follows with an 88, while Kate Rendon adds a 91. Ana Edwards and Ansleigh Mullins each post 93 to round out the team score as Argyle cards a 347 and sits in fourth place behind Lovejoy, Mansfield Legacy, and Aledo heading into the final round.
Alex Mara also delivers a breakthrough performance while competing as a medalist, firing a career-best 82 and giving the Lady Eagles another major bright spot on a difficult day.
Then comes the turnaround.
In the final round, Argyle puts together one of its best team performances of the season, shooting a tournament-low 314 to surge up the standings. Rendon leads the charge with a 76, while Moses follows with a career-best 77. Purczynski adds a 78, and Edwards contributes an 83 as the Lady Eagles make a powerful push toward the top of the board.
Trailing Lovejoy by 10 shots entering the round, Argyle nearly erases the entire deficit and finishes just one shot short of the title. Mullins closes with a 93, and Mara adds a 90 as the Lady Eagles cap the tournament with a runner-up finish and a performance that says plenty about the group’s resilience.
The weekend becomes about more than placement alone. It becomes a statement of composure, toughness, and the ability to respond when conditions and circumstances are far from ideal. Argyle does exactly that, turning a weather-disrupted opening day into a second-place finish powered by one of the best final rounds in the field.
