Lady Eagles Seniors Close Careers at 5A Region I Tournament
April 14-15, 2026
LakeRidge Country Club – Lubbock, Texas
The final high school event for Alex Mara and Colbie Moses comes on one of the biggest stages in Texas golf.
Representing Argyle at the UIL 5A Region I Tournament, the two Lady Eagles seniors battle through a loaded regional field at LakeRidge Country Club and close their careers with the kind of fight that has defined the program all season. In a tournament filled with state contenders from across Region I, Mara and Moses come up short of a state berth, but not without making one final push in red and black.
LakeRidge once again proves to be a demanding postseason test.
Grapevine claims the team title at 613, followed by Amarillo at 630 and Colleyville Heritage at 632, as the top of the regional leaderboard leaves very little room for error. Every score has to be earned, and every stretch of holes has the potential to shift the field.
For Argyle, Mara, and Moses, give the Lady Eagles two steady competitors in their final high school start.
Mara finishes tied for 15th overall at 162 after rounds of 86 and 76. Her tournament becomes a story of resilience. After a difficult opening round on Monday, Mara answers with one of her best rounds of the season on Tuesday, cutting 10 shots from her score and closing her career with a strong 76. The final round shows exactly what has made her such an important part of the program — toughness, poise, and the ability to respond.
Moses finishes 18th overall at 163 with rounds of 82 and 81, turning in two steady days against one of the strongest fields Argyle faces all year. Her consistency keeps her in the fight throughout the tournament, and her final-round 81 is another reminder of the dependable play she has given the Lady Eagles throughout her career.
Together, the two seniors give Argyle a proud finish in Lubbock.
The state-qualifying spots ultimately go elsewhere, but the week is about more than who advances. It is about two seniors representing their school with composure in the final chapter of their high school careers. Mara responds with a brilliant closing round. Moses delivers two solid tournament scores. And both leave LakeRidge having competed the right way in a field that demanded their best.
That is how strong careers are remembered.
Not only for the tournaments won, or the banners chased, but for the consistency, leadership, and standard they leave behind. Mara and Moses walk off the course in Lubbock without the state berth they wanted, but with careers that helped continue the rise of Argyle Lady Eagles golf.
