It was a great start to the season for the Lady Eagles this Saturday!

The Varsity girls finished 2nd as a team; just 5 points shy of the first place finisher. Senior Mara Reed led the team, placing 5th, with a time of 21:42. Next was senior Sophie Denault, who ran 22:01, overtaking several runners at the finish to place 8th. Freshman Madison Chapman made her high school debut, finishing the course in 22:19 to place 11th. Not far behind was freshman Avery Cain, who completed her first race for Argyle High School as well. She placed 13th with a time of 22:35. Rounding out the team score was junior Emerson Payne, running a personal best of 23:19. Also competing for Varsity were freshman Morgan Castleberry and junior Sydney Lessley, who ran 23:58 and 24:14 to place 18th and 19th respectively.

Next week, the Lady Eagles will be competing at the Flower Mound 2 Mile Invitational.
