The Lady Eagles competed at the District 5/6 - 5A Meet this Friday, placing 3rd overall as a team.
The meet began with the 3200m, where freshman Madison Chapman placed 7th, running a time of 12:10.24.
The field events began with girls shot put, where sophomore Emma King threw 34-9 to place 4th. King will be competing at the Region 1-5A Championships next week.
Next was the girls' pole vault. Sophomore Dylan Wyrick placed 4th with a new PR of 12-0, while senior Peyton Berry tied her PR of 12-6 to bring home the gold. Both will be advancing to the regional meet.
Also advancing is junior Ella Stanzel, who placed 4th, with a height of 5-4 in the high jump.
The afternoon running events began with the girls' 4X100m. The relay, consisting of senior Estelle Davis, freshman Chelsey Nwaiwu, sophomore Saige Soell, and junior Blair Mosley took 2nd with a time of 48.49. This effort was one of the all-time best times for Argyle and earned them a spot in the regional meet.
Following was the 100m hurdles, in which the Lady Eagles competed freshman Presli Prater. She ran a new PR of 16.08 for a 5th place finish. In the 100m run, freshman Chelsey Nwaiwu also placed 5th, running a time 12.61.
Next was the 4X200m relay. Sophomores Eva Robinson and Saige Soell, freshman Kach Meador, and sophomore Kaia Tritthardt placed 2nd, finishing in a time of 1:42.90. The relay team will be moving on to regionals next week.
Junior Blair Mosley competed in the open 400m, running a new PR of 58.26 for 2nd, and punching her ticket to the Region 1-5A Championships.
Competing in the 300m hurdles was sophomore Kate Brooks. She ran 48.63 for a 6th-place finish. In the 200m run, freshman Chelsey Nwaiwu placed 5th, running 25.89.
Freshman Madison Chapman competed in the 1600m for the Lady Eagles. She placed 4th with a new PR of 5:23.85, and will be competing at the regional meet next week.
The final event of the night was the 4X400m relay. Competing for Argyle were sophomore Kaia Tritthardt, senior Zoe Jackson, freshman Kacheral Meador, and junior Blair Mosley. The team ran 4:04.70 for 2nd place, ensuring that all relays would be competing at the Region 1-5A Championships.
The following athletes will represent the Argyle Lady Eagles Track and Field team at regionals in Lubbock, TX next week.
