Lady Eagles Take 2nd & 4th at Wildcat Relays

The Lady Eagles came ready to compete at the Guyer Wildcat Relays. In a deep field, the Varsity Lady Eagles were neck and neck with Flower Mound Marcus for the duration of the meet, often separated by only half a point. They finished the meet in 2nd place, with 131 points to Marcus’ 134.5. The JV team had a phenomenal day too, finishing 4th place, and missing 3rd by one point.
The day began with the field events, where freshman Emma King set a new PR in JV shot put, throwing 28-8.50 to place 6th. Also competing were sophomore Trinity Diggs, who placed 16th, and junior Oritsesetenesan Nanna, who placed 18th. Diggs threw 25-3, while Nanna threw a new PR of 23-11.75.
Freshman Emma King also set a new PR in the JV discus, throwing 78-0 to place 9th. Freshman Kara Campbell also competed, placing 19th with a new PR of 54-9.75. In the Varsity division, senior Cora Crowell placed 2nd with a throw of 109-10, putting 8 points on the board for the Lady Eagles.
In the JV girls high jump, sophomore Ella Stanzel was the overall champion, jumping 5-0. Also competing was freshman Allie King, who jumped 4-6 to place 9th. In the Varsity division, senior Shelby Reed took 1st place with a jump of 5-4. Sophomore Teagan Tarrant also put points on the board, placing 4th with a jump of 5-0. Also competing was junior Madeline Zindel, who jumped 5-0 to place 7th.
The Varsity girls swept the field in the pole vault. Junior Peyton Berry was the individual champion, jumping 11-0, while freshman Dylan Wyrick placed 2nd with a new PR of 10-6.
In the JV girls long jump, the top competitor for Argyle was sophomore Ella Stanzel, who placed 10th with a jump of 14-6. Freshman Kensley Vest competed and jumped her personal best of 13-6 to place 15th. Also competing was freshman Heather Harbach, who placed 18th with 13-3. In the Varsity division, senior Shaye Feely jumped 16-11.25 to place 4th. Sophomore Madeline Zindel set a new PR of 14-3.75 to place 13th.
Competing in the JV long jump was junior Rylie Fenoglio. She jumped 26-8 to place 10th, while in the Varsity division, freshman Brooke Maupin placed 6th with a jump of 33-4.
The running events began with the JV 3200m run. Freshman Karson Riewerts set a new personal best, running 13:48 to place 12th. Sophomore Ariana Hernandez also competed, placing 16th with a time of 14:20. In the Varsity race, sophomore Emily Dallas ran a new PR of 12:24 to place 10th. Also competing were junior Adelyn Smith and freshman Natalia Crnecki. They placed 19th and 20th, running 13:39 and 13:45 respectively. This was a new PR for Smith.
In the Varsity girls sprint medley relay, the Lady Eagles placed 1st, with a time of 4:35.12. The team consisted of Estelle Davis, sophomores Madeline Zindel and Emerson Payne, and freshman Landry Murphy.
This event was followed by the JV girls 100m hurdles, where freshman Kate Brooks set a new PR of 17.72. Sophomore Ella Stanzel also scored points, placing 4th with a time of 17.97. Freshman Addison Simpson also ran a new PR of 20.54. Senior Shaye Feely took the gold in the Varsity division, running a time of 15.17. Junior Emily Harbach placed 3rd, running 15.90. Also competing was junior Zoey Tait, who placed 10th with 17.54.
The JV girls 4X100m relay placed 2nd, running a time of 51.17. The team included sophomores Londan Jordan, LeiLani De Leon, Ayla Feely, and Blair Mosley. The Varsity 4X100m relay took 5th place, with a time of 49.84. This group consisted of seniors Kendall Baker and Shaye Feely, and freshman Mallory Kuykendall and Brooke Maupin.
Following this was the JV girls 800m run. Sophomore Emerson Payne ran her second 800m for the day for the Lady Eagles, running 2:38.51 to place 6th. Also competing were junior Sophie Deneault and freshman Brooke Kilpatrick, who ran 2.41.21 and 2.46.73 to place 8th and 13th respectively. This was a new PR for Deneault. Leading for Argyle in the Varsity division was junior Mara Reed, who placed 6th with a new PR of 2:26.52. Also competing were freshman Aoife Journagan and Sadie Cotter. They placed 15th and 16th respectively, finishing in 2:36.54 and 2:37.07.
In the JV 100m dash, sophomore Londan Jordan ran a new Pr of 13.17 to place 5th. Junior Bella Jeffreys finished the race in 13.35 to place 9th, and sophomore Brooklyn Strongfellow finished 17th with 13.67. In the Varsity division, senior Kendall Baker placed 9th with a time of 12.56. Junior Estelle Davis 13th with 12.86, and freshman Mallory Kuykendall ran a new personal best of 12.93 to place 15th.
The JV 4X200m relay also placed 2nd, with a time of 1:50.34. This team consisted of sophomores Londan Jordan, LeiLani De Leon, Ayla Feely, and junior Zoe Jackson. The Varsity girls 4X200m relay ran 1:43.81 to place 3rd. This team consisted of seniors Kendall Baker and Laiken Zamzow, junior Emily Harbach, and freshman Brooke Maupin.
The JV girls all set new personal records in the 400m dash. Sophomore Ellie Emeterio led the way, placing 3rd with a time of 1:04.55. Freshman Landry Murphy and Kensley Vest ran 1:06.58 and 1:06.64 to place 8th and 10th respectively. In the Varsity race, senior Laiken Zamzow ran 1:00.98 to take 2nd place. Sophomore Blair Mosley also scored points, running 1:02.56 to place 5th. Also competing was sophomore Madeline Zindel, placing 19th with a time of 1:05.78.
With a new PR, freshman Addison Simpson placed 16th in the 300m hurdles. She ran a time of 1:00.10. Freshman Kate Brooks scored points for the Lady Eagles in the Varsity division. She ran 49.94 to place 6th. Also competing were sophomore Teagan Tarrant and junior Zoey Tait. They ran 54.16 and 55.50 to place 15th and 16th respectively.
In the JV 200m dash, sophomore Ayla Feely led the way for the Lady Eagles. She ran a new Pr of 28.40 to place 7th. Freshman Kensley Vest also ran a new PR of 29.07 to place 13th. In the Varsity division, freshman Mallory Kuykendall ran a new PR of 27.84 to place 14th. Junior Zoe Jackson placed 16th, running a time of 27.87. Also competing was sophomore Madeline Zindel, who placed 20th with a time of 28.41.
The JV girls 1600m crew was led by sophomore Sydney Lessley who placed 14th, with a time of 6:02.07. Following closely behind were freshman Brooke Kilpatrick and junior Sophie Deneault, who placed 15th and 16th, running respective times of 6:02.41 and 6:02.78. This was a new PR for Deneault. Leading for the Argyle Lady Eagles in the Varsity race was junior Mara Reed. She ran 5:28.34 to place 3rd. Sophomore Emily Dallas set another PR in the 1600m, placing 15th with a time of 5:49.82. Also competing was freshman Sadie Cotter, who ran 5:57.68 to place 23rd.
The JV girls 4X400m walked away with the gold, running 4:15.37 for first place. This team consisted of sophomores Ellie Emeterio, LeiLani De Leon, Blair Mosley, and freshman Kate Brooks. The Varsity girls 4X400m relay set their season best, running 4:02.09 to place 2nd. This team included seniors Shaye Feely and Laiken Zamzow, junior Emily Harbach, and freshman Brooke Maupin.
Overall, it was a great day for the Lady Eagles. Next week, they will be competing at the Southlake Carroll Invitational, as well as Texas Relays.
