Lady Eagles Track and Field Makes Season Debut at Denton Ryan Invitational

It was a great first meet for the Argyle Lady Eagles Track and Field team! They put 51 points on the board to take 3rd place, with a number of new personal best times for the first meet of the season.
The day began with the girls 3200m, in which freshmen Madison Chapman and Avery Cain took 2nd & 3rd. Chapman ran a new PR of 12:37.68, with Avery Cain following in 14:02.15. Also competing in the 3200m were freshman Jordan Augenstein, junior London Fry, and sophomore Karis Shillingburg. They placed 11th, 12th, & 14th, running new PR’s of 15:33.87, 15:34.38, & 15:43.55 respectively.
This was followed by the 100m hurdles, where senior Emily Harbach placed 6th with a time of 15.49. Next, a handful of Lady Eagles took 9th-13th. This included freshman Presli Prater, senior Zoey Tait, junior Ella Stanzel, sophomore Kate Brooks, and junior Teagan Tarrant. Prater ran a new PR of 16.64, and was followed by senior Zoey Tait, junior Ella Stanzel, and sophomore Kate Brooks, who ran 17.45, 17.93, & 17.95 respectively. Also competing was junior Teagin Tarrant, who ran a new PR of 18.11.
Next was the 100m dash, in which the team was led by freshman Chelsea Nwaiwu, who ran a new PR of 12.79 for 11th place. Senior Estelle Davis, ran 12.95 for 18th, and sophomore Saige Soell, placed 23rd with a time of 13.01. Placing 27th & 28th was the duo of junior Alexa Garcia and senior Bella Jeffreys. Garcia ran a new PR of 13.06, with Jeffreys following closely behind in 13.13. Also competing were freshman Julia Allen, sophomore Kaia Tritthardt, and junior LeiLani De Leon. They placed 28th, 33rd, and 34th, running 13.29, 13.30, and 13.35 respectively. This was a new PR for Tritthardt.
The 800m yielded more points for the Lady Eagles. Senior Sophie Deneault led the way, placing 5th with a new PR of 2:34.34. Finishing neck and neck, freshman Sofia Gomez and junior Emerson Payne finished 9th and 10th, running times of 2:37.63 & 2:38.88. Junior Ariana Hernandez placed 18th, running 2:48.88. Also competing were junior London Fry and sophomore Karis Shillingburg, who finished in 3:04.34 and 3:20.85 to take 32nd & 38th.
The 400m dash was led by senior Emily Harbach, who placed 2nd, starting the season with a time of 1:00.15. Junior Alexa Garcia placed 14th, running a new PR of 1:03.90. Freshman Deana Somers was next, running a personal best of 1:06.48 for 29th. Coming in 32nd was junior Ayla Feely with a time of 1:07.29. Following was freshman trio Burkley Patton, Hannah Childs, and Bella Moes. They finished 41st, 49th, and 54th, running 1:08.72, 1:10.26, & 1.11.17 respectively. These were new personal bests for Patton and Moes.
Freshman Presli Prater put up points for the Lady Eagles in the 300m hurdles. She ran a new PR of 50.31 to place 5th. Next was sophomore Kate Brooks, who ran 51.03 for 7th. In 18th was junior Teagin Tarrant, finishing with a time of 56.24.
In a tough field, freshman Chelsea Nawaiwu led the way, running a new PR of 26.63 for 10th. Taking 21st & 22nd were sophomores Saige Soell and Eva Robinson, who both ran a time of 27.20. This was a new PR for Soell. Placing 28th, freshman Kach Meador finished in a new personal best of 27:46. Seniors Bella Jeffreys and Estelle Davis were next, placing 39th and 41st. They finished in 27.81 and 28.09. This was a new PR for Davis. Also competing was freshman Julia Allen, who finished 44th with a time of 28.25 in her first meet for Argyle.
Towards the end of the night, the Lady Eagles scored more points in the 1600m run. Freshman Madison Chapman led the way, running a new PR of 5:46.09 for 3rd place. Junior Sydney Lessley followed closely behind, placing 5th with a time of 5:48.41. Senior Sophie Deneault placed 9th with a new PR of 5:57.55. Next was the duo of junior Emerson Payne and freshman Avery Cain. They ran 6:04.29 and 6:10.09 for 11th and 12th. Junior Ariana Hernandez set a new PR of 6:22.66 for 18th. Additionally, freshmen Jordan Augenstein and Bella Moes set new personal bests of 6:49.07 & 6:53.84 to place 31st & 32nd.
Girls pole vault saw senior Peyton Berry take first place with a height of 12-1. Also putting up points was sophomore Dylan Wyrick, who placed 3rd with a height of 11-0, tying her previous record.
The team also entered a mixed 4X400m race, in which Eva Robinson, Kach Meador, Bryce Johnson, and Reagan Ross competed. The team finished 5th place overall.
