The Varsity girls competed in a tough field, and were the top 5A team in the Braswell Little "D" Classic this morning. They placed 4th overall; 51 points in front of the next competitor.

The team was led by senior Mara Reed, who placed 15th, running a time of 20:09. Right behind her was freshman Madison Chapman, who placed 20th with a time of 20:21. Senior Sophie Deneault set a new PR of 20:39 to place 29th. Sophomore Sadie Cotter set a new PR as well, running 20:55 for 35th. Avery Cain was not far behind, and rounded out the team score as the 5th runner. She placed 43rd, with a new best time of 21:08. Also competing for the Varsity team was junior Emerson Payne. She ran a new personal best of 21:24 to place 54th. Freshman Morgan Castleberry set a new PR, placing 61st with a time of 21:43. Sydney Lessley also placed 86th, running 22:29.

Next week, the Lady Eagles will compete at the Decatur Reunion Run on Thursday morning.
