Lady Eagles Finish Runner-Up at East Texas Open

The Argyle Lady Eagles turn in another strong two-day performance at the East Texas Open, finishing second against a quality field at Tempest Golf Club.

Hosted by Glen Rose High School, the tournament begins under difficult conditions after torrential overnight thunderstorms force a three-hour rain delay on Friday morning. The wet weather adds another layer of difficulty to an already demanding course, but the Lady Eagles respond with the kind of poise and toughness that keeps them in contention throughout the weekend.

Argyle opens with a team score of 348 in the first round.

Ryan Purczynski leads the way with an 84, while Kate Rendon adds an 87 to keep the Lady Eagles in strong position. Alex Mara follows with a 91, Colbie Moses contributes a 92, and Ana Edwards rounds out the team score with a 97 as Argyle builds a solid foundation heading into the final round.

The second day brings another steady performance.

The Lady Eagles card a 347 to finish with a 36-hole total of 695, securing the runner-up spot and narrowly missing the team title. Across both rounds, Argyle shows the kind of consistency that matters in tournament golf, especially on a course still affected by weather and changing conditions.

What stands out most is the way the Lady Eagles handle the weekend. In a tournament shaped by delays, wet conditions, and a challenging layout, Argyle stays composed and competes with resilience from the opening round through the final holes.

The trip also gives the team a chance to enjoy one of the more memorable parts of the weekend away from the traditional round, taking part in the Glow Ball Tournament and adding another shared experience to a successful road trip.

For Argyle, the East Texas Open becomes another strong step forward. The Lady Eagles continue to show growth, consistency, and the ability to compete near the top of the leaderboard as the spring season moves deeper into its most important stretch.
