The Argyle Lady Eagle golf team kicked off their tournament season at Harbor Lakes Golf Club in Granbury, Texas, on Friday and Saturday, September 13 and 14. The weather was beautiful, though the players contended with hot temperatures throughout both days.
In the tournament's first round, the Lady Eagles posted solid scores despite the heat. Leading the way for Argyle was Ansleigh Mullins, who shot an impressive 88. Ana Edwards followed with a 91, Emerson Fischer carded a 93, Colbie Moses shot 97, Lily Bayer finished with a 105, and Sloane McMellion rounded out the group with a 110. The team's combined score for the first round was 369.
The Lady Eagles came back strong in the second round, led by Colbie Moses, who fired an outstanding 77. Ansleigh Mullins shot a 96, while Lily Bayer recorded a personal best with a score of 97. Sloane McMellion improved with a 105, and Emerson Fischer completed the round with a 106. Bayer’s personal milestone was a bright spot in the tournament as she continues to make strides in her game.
The team finished 9th place overall and will take valuable lessons from the event as they prepare for The Amarillo Relays next month, which will be held at Tascosa Country Club and Amarillo Country Club. The Lady Eagles are eager to build on their progress and continue their season with determination and focus.
