The Lady Eagles XC Team took 2nd place in a tough field at the Flower Mound Invitational this morning.

Freshman Madison Chapman led the way, taking 9th with a new PR of 12:54. Close behind was senior Mara Reed, running 13:07 to place 13th. Closing out the team score was a trio of Argyle runners, who all finished together. Sophomore Sadie Cotter and senior Sophie Deneault were neck and neck at the finish line, finishing 22nd and 23rd in 13:42.68 & 13:42.88. Freshman Avery Cain was the team’s #5 today, rounding out the score with a 24th place finish. She completed the course in a new PR of 13:44.

Next was freshman Morgan Castleberry, who placed 32nd, running a new PR of 14:08. She was followed by junior Emerson Payne, who ran 14:18 to place 34th. Also competing for the Varsity team was junior Sydney Lessley, who ran 14:39 to place 40th.

Next week, the Lady Eagles will compete at the Marcus Coach T Invitational.
