The Lady Eagles Track and Field Team had a great showing at the Region 1-5A Championships. All 5 athletes placed in the top 10, and two athletes will be moving on to the Track and Field 5A State Championships.
The meet for Argyle began with the 5A girls high jump, with senior Shelby Reed placing 5th overall. She tied her season PR of 5-4.
Following Reed, senior Kendall Baker placed 10th in the girls 100m dash, running a time of 12.86.
Senior Shaye Feely advanced to the finals in the 100m hurdles, where she placed 5th, with a time of 15.10.
The Lady Eagles had two competitors in the girls pole vault. Freshman Dylan Wyrick made her regional debut, placing 6th, with a height of 10-6, while senior Peyton Berry punched her ticket to state. She jumped a new PR of 12-3 to place 2nd.
All-in-all, a great season for the Lady Eagles Track and Field Team. Berry will be competing in the 5A State Championship next week.
