Argyle Eagles Show Offensive Prowess, Split Games at Five Tool Festival

The Argyle Eagles baseball team competed in the Five Tool High School Festival this past weekend, posting a record of 2 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie in four games.

On February 29, 2024, the Eagles battled The Woodlands to a 4-4 tie. Grady Emerson and Brayden Rosckes led the offense with 2 hits each and Brodey McConnico tallied 2 Rbi's. John Gailey went 5 innings adding 6 strikeouts in a no decision.

On February 29, 2024, Argyle fell to Houston Memorial by a score of 0-5. Alex D'Angelo went 6.1 innings on the mound with 6 strikeouts while only giving up 1 earned run.

On March 1, 2024, the Eagles bounced back with a 10-7 victory over Magnolia Heights (MS), with Grady Emerson launching a home run. 6 Eagles had multi hit games as the offense came alive. 10 hits came from the top of the order for the Eagles. Baron Mannis went 4 innings giving up 0 earned runs.

On March 2, 2024, Argyle dominated Prosper Walnut Grove, winning by a score of 13-0. In this game, Colton Roquemore, Park Prater, & Micah Roberts added home runs to the Eagles' offensive tally. Roqumore also led the team with 5 Rbi's on the day. Hudson Emeterio got the Win on the mound going 4 innings and striking out 5. Johnny Malchow back from an injury pitched a 3 up 3 down 5th inning striking out two of the batters he faced to complete the 5 inning run rule.

The Eagles will look to build on their recent success as they continue their season this upcoming weekend in the final tournament before district play.
