Girls Golf Finishes 2nd in the Amarillo Relays

Argyle traveled to the panhandle of Texas to compete in the Amarillo Relays over the weekend. Amarillo ISD hosts the two-day event on two premium courses, Tascosa Country Club and Amarillo Country Club, just a few days after West Texas A&M hosted their annual tournament at the same venues.

The first round was played at Tascosa Country Club. Junior Ryan Purczynski led the Lady Eagles, shooting an opening round 72. Sophomore Colbie Moses shot 78, and Senior Kate Rendon shot an opening round 81. Junior Ana Edwards and sophomore Alex Mara shot rounds of 86 and 88 to round out the team scoring. Junior Ansleigh Mullins shot 87 playing as a medalist.

The final round was played at Amarillo Country Club. Entering the final round the Lady Eagles were in third place behind the host Amarillo Sandies and district rival Colleyville Heritage. Purczynski shot a final round 77 to finish as the 3rd place medalist. Edwards shot a personal best round of 79 breaking 80 for the first time. Moses and Rendon each shot 82 and Mara and Mullins shot rounds of 92 and 90 for a team score of 320 giving the Lady Eagles a 2nd place team finish.

The Lady Eagles will next host 24 of North Texas' top golf teams in the Argyle Invitational at Wildhorse Golf Course at Robson Ranch on October 20 & 21.
