The Lady Eagle Varsity and JV squads opened up the season by taking 2nd and 3rd respectively at the Birdville Early Bird Invitational on Saturday, August 12th.

The Lady Eagles JV team was led by Senior Jade Beaulieu, who finished first, with a time of 14:35, a full 10 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher. Junior Adelyn Smith placed 4th, taking 43 seconds off her previous record to run a PR of 14:46. Following her were Freshman Karson Riewerts (14th) and Sophomore Ariana Hernandez (28th). Both clocked personal bests, running 15:28 and 16:45 respectively. Rounding out the team score was Freshman Keira Brassell, placing 31st with a personal best of 16:48. Also competing for the JV team were Freshman Chloe Rose (37th), Sophomore Ella Artho (40th), and Junior Julia Conway (47th), who ran times of 17:23, 17:55, and 19:53.

With the first race of the season complete, many athletes walked away with a new personal record this week. Next week we look forward to competing at the Byron Nelson Invitational on 8/19, and adding some new runners to the mix.
