The Argyle Lady Eagles traveled to Lubbock for the Region I Golf Tournament. Two teams and two medalists from UIL Distircts 1-8 across the North and West portions of the state met at the Rawls Course at Texas Tech for the championship.

The first round had the four top-ranked teams, Argyle, Aledo, Amarillo, and Lubbock Cooper, leading off the 1st tee. Day one started with mild wind and cold temperatures in the 40’s with both the temperature and wind rising throughout the day with 20 mph wind and dust as the round completed. Sophomore Ana Edwards in the 8:00 AM tee time shot a 92. Freshman Colbie Moses followed at 8:10 shooting 89, with junior Kate Rendon shooting a career-best 80 teeing off at 8:20. Sophomore Ryan Purczynski shot 77 in the 8:30 tee time and senior Madison Wert finalized the team's lineup in the 8:40 tee time shooting a 75. The team score of 321 gave the Lady Eagles a 1 stroke lead after the first round.

Day two was a chamber of commerce day with low wind and temperatures beginning in the mid-60s and finishing in the mid-80s. Wert led Argyle again on day two shooting 75 with Purczynski also shooting a sub-80 score of 78. Rendon followed shooting an 82, Moses shot 85, and Edwards shot an 87 for a team score of 320. The two-day total of 641 earned the Lady Eagles the 5A Region I Championship.

Argyle will prepare for the 5A State Tournament at White Wing Golf Club in Georgetown. The championship will take place on May 15 and 16, 2023.
