Heading into Spring Break the Argyle Lady Eagles traveled to Lubbock for the 5A Region 1 Preview at Texas Tech’s The Rawls Course. The South Plains welcomed the team with 3 of the 4 seasons, warm beautiful weather for the practice round, freezing temperatures to begin round one, and West Texas wind and dust blowing 20+ mph in round two.

Bundle up in cold temperatures the Eagles were led by top ten finishers Madison Wert and Ryan Purzynski each shooting 77. Kate Rendon and Colbie Moses joined in with scores of 86 and 89. Ana Edwards shot a first-round score of 90. The team score of 329 had the Lady Eagles in the lead after the first round.

Round two brought winds of 20-30 moh and blowing dust. The Lady Eagles were up to the challenge of the links course of The Rawls shooting a team score of 330. Future Midwestern State Mustang Madison Wert shot a tournament-best 2 under par 70 to claim the individual medalist. Sophomores Ryan Purczynski and Ana Edwards followed with an 80 and 85. Junior Kate Rendon and freshman Colbie Moses each shot 95 for the Eagles.

The score of 659 earned Argyle the tournament championship for the third straight of the spring. Next for the Lady Eagles will be a District Preview at Champions Circle on March 30 before District play on April 4-5 also at Champions Circle.
