The North Texas High School Golf Coaches Association hosted its annual NTHSGCA Memorial Scholarship Tournament this weekend at Lake Park Golf Course. The tournament is held in honor of former North Texas high school golf coaches in which two scholarships are awarded each year.

The Lady Eagles shot a team score of 652, 329-323, to win the tournament for the first time. Day one started with the Lady Eagles teeing off at 7:30 AM in 30 below-freezing temperatures. Madison Wert, senior, led the Lady Eagles by shooting a 75. Kate Rendon, junior, and Colbie Moses, freshman, each shot 84, Ryan Purczynski, sophomore, shot 86, and Ari Davies, sophomore, shot 103 for the team score of 323.

Day two started with Argyle in second place paired with Denton Guyer and Colleyville Heritage. Wert again led the Eagles with a score of 73 to earn the first-place individual championship. Purczynski improved her score by 7 on day two shooting a 79. Rendon also improved her score shooting an 82. Moses finished with a personal best two-day total of 173 shooting a day two score of 89. The team score of 652 earned the Lady Eagles the team championship.

Next weekend Argyle travels to Aledo to play in the Bearcat Brawl at Slit Rial Links and Golf Club and Squaw Creek Golf Course before traveling to Lubbock next month for the Region I 5A Preview at The Rawls Course at Texas Tech.
