April 5 & 8, 2019
Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch – Argyle, Texas
The Argyle Lady Eagles deliver a dominant postseason performance at the District 8-4A Tournament, finishing first and second as a program at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch and sending a clear message heading into regional play.
Across two rounds, Argyle’s top team posts scores of 342 and 337 for a 36-hole total of 679 to capture the district championship. The second team adds another impressive finish, carding 450 and 431 for an 881 total and placing second overall. Together, the two teams put Argyle at the top of the standings and showcase the program’s depth from top to bottom.
The individual leaderboard belongs to the Lady Eagles as well.
Junior Hannah Wood claims the district title with rounds of 76 and 82, finishing first overall and leading Argyle from the top spot. Freshman Katie Garner follows as tournament runner-up after posting scores of 86 and 84. Senior Molly Yarbrough finishes third with rounds of 93 and 83, while Madelyn Diomede places fourth at 95-88. Senior Kenzie Sullivan adds another All-District finish, tying for fifth with scores of 87 and 102.
That puts five Lady Eagles near the top of the board and helps produce the team’s best result of the season.
The second team adds to the program-wide success with a runner-up finish of its own. Sarah Greiner leads that group with rounds of 98 and 93 to place seventh. Freshman Reese Underwood follows with a 106-105 to finish ninth, while Stella Pace shows strong improvement from round one to round two with scores of 116 and 103. Izzy Wolfe contributes 130-130, and Elly Neece rounds out the lineup with 140 and 149.
In all, Argyle places seven players on the All-District team, reinforcing just how complete the program looks at the most important point of the season.
The tournament becomes more than a district championship. It becomes a statement of depth, consistency, and competitive strength. Argyle not only wins the team title, but also fills the top of the leaderboard with Lady Eagles golfers and places both squads in the top two of the standings.
Next, the Lady Eagles turn their attention to the Region I Tournament at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock on April 22-23.
