Lady Eagles Open Spring at Boswell Pioneer Invitational

The Argyle Lady Eagles open the spring season with a solid showing at the Boswell Pioneer Invitational, competing at The Golf Club at Fossil Creek and finishing fifth against a strong field.

The tournament gives Argyle an early test in two very different conditions. Friday brings cold temperatures and wet weather, while Saturday turns warmer but adds another challenge with winds gusting between 25 and 30 miles per hour. Through both rounds, the Lady Eagles stay steady and continue building momentum for the heart of the spring schedule.

Hannah Wood leads the way for Argyle across both days.

The junior opens with a 91 in the first round and follows with a 90 in windy conditions to finish at 181. Molly Yarbrough also delivers a consistent two-day performance, posting rounds of 91 and 93 for a 184 total. Madelyn Diomede adds scores of 99 and 95, while Sarah Greiner cards a 93 in the opening round before finishing with a 102. Kenzie Sullivan rounds out the team scoring with rounds of 111 and 102.

Katie Garner also turns in a noteworthy performance while competing as a medalist.

The freshman shoots a personal-best 93 in the opening round and follows with a 103 in the final round, continuing to show growth early in her high school career.

Argyle finishes with team scores of 376 and 380 for a 36-hole total of 756, placing fifth overall and narrowly missing a team medal by eight shots. For the Lady Eagles, the weekend provides another valuable step forward as the spring season begins to take shape.

Next, Garner joins the JV girls at Diamond Oaks Country Club in Fort Worth, while the varsity squad travels to Lubbock for the Region I Preview at Shadow Hills Golf Course on March 1-2.
