Lady Eagles Set Program Records at Fred Willis Memorial Scholarship Tournament

Lake Park Golf Course – Lewisville, Texas

The Argyle Lady Eagles turn in their best team scoring of the fall at the Fred Willis Memorial Scholarship Tournament, posting back-to-back season-low rounds on two crisp mornings at Lake Park Golf Course.

Hosted by the North Texas High School Golf Coaches Association at the home course of former Lewisville head coach Fred Willis, the event gives Argyle another strong early-season test on a layout played at 5,760 yards from the men’s white tees. The Lady Eagles respond with rounds of 333 and 334 for a 36-hole total of 667, their lowest two-round score of the season to that point.

Hannah Wood delivers the headline performance.

Wood opens with a 78 and follows with a brilliant even-par 72 to finish at 150, setting Argyle High School records for both 18 holes and 36 holes. Her final-round 72 gives the Lady Eagles a landmark individual performance, and her two-day total establishes a new standard for the program.

Argyle sees more milestones throughout the lineup as well.

Madelyn Diomede posts a personal-best 160 with rounds of 82 and 78, while Maddie Wilson records a personal-best 190 with scores of 90 and 100. Katie Garner adds rounds of 87 and 84 to give the Lady Eagles another steady scoring presence across both days.

Reese Underwood continues to battle through a wrist injury suffered the previous week and manages an 86 in the opening round before withdrawing during day two.

For Argyle, the tournament becomes more than another stop on the fall schedule. It produces the team’s two lowest rounds of the season, a new school record for both 18 and 36 holes, and multiple personal bests across the lineup. It is the kind of weekend that shows both progress and promise.

The Lady Eagles next travel to the newly renovated Golf Club at Champions Circle for the Eaton Invitational. Later in the month, Argyle closes the fall season at the Abilene ISD Halloween Classic at Diamondback and Maxwell Golf Courses.
