Lady Eagles Win District 7-4A Championship, Add Third-Place Team Finish
March 29 & April 5, 2021
Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch / RB Golf Club and Resort – Argyle / Runaway Bay, Texas

The Argyle Lady Eagles deliver another championship performance at the District 7-4A Tournament, finishing first and third in the team standings across two rounds at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch and RB Golf Club and Resort.

Argyle’s Red team leads the way, posting rounds of 317 and 344 to capture the district championship and secure a berth in the Region I Tournament. The Black team also turns in a strong postseason showing, carding 372 and 393 to finish third overall while advancing two players as individual regional qualifiers.

The top of the leaderboard once again belongs to Argyle.

Katie Garner leads the Red team with rounds of 77 and 81 to earn district individual champion honors. Madison Wert follows with scores of 82 and 83 to finish third overall. Claire Jensen posts a 76 and 91, Lauren Justice adds rounds of 82 and 89, and Madelyn Diomede shoots 84 and 92 as all three earn All-District recognition and help power the Red team to the title.

That balanced scoring gives Argyle exactly what championship teams need in district play — consistency throughout the lineup and multiple players near the top of the individual standings.

The Black team adds another strong layer to the program’s postseason success.

Izzy Wolfe leads that group with rounds of 85 and 93, while Madi Hance shoots 84 and 96. Both earn All-District honors and qualify for the Region I Tournament as individual medalists. Maddie Wilson contributes rounds of 100 and 102, Corin Sullivan cards 103 and 102, and Avery Clayton rounds out the lineup with scores of 105 and 124.

The two-day district tournament reinforces the depth of the Lady Eagles program. Argyle not only wins the team championship, but also places another team in the top three and sends additional individual qualifiers forward, continuing to build on a strong postseason tradition.

Next, the Lady Eagles head to one of the most competitive regional tournaments in Texas at Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock on April 19-20. There, Argyle competes for the opportunity to earn a place in the UIL State Tournament at Plum Creek Golf Course in Kyle on May 10-11.
