Lady Eagles Sweep Top Two Spots at District 7-4A Preview
March 22, 2022
RB Golf Club – Runaway Bay, Texas

The Argyle Lady Eagles turn the District 7-4A Preview into a showcase of depth, toughness, and control, finishing first and second as a program at RB Golf Club.

In some of the most difficult weather conditions the team faces all season, Argyle rises above the field. Temperatures remain in the mid-40s throughout the round, while steady winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour make shot-making, distance control, and scoring a constant challenge. Even so, both Lady Eagles teams handle the conditions better than anyone else.

Argyle Black claims the team title with a score of 332, while Argyle Red follows in second at 371, giving the Lady Eagles the top two spots in the team standings and reinforcing the program’s depth from top to bottom.

The individual leaderboard tells the same story.

Senior Katie Garner wins the tournament with an 81, leading an Argyle sweep at the top of the standings. Just one shot back, Ryan Purczynski, Ana Corro, and Madison Wert each post 82s, giving the Lady Eagles the next three spots and complete command of the individual race. Lauren Justice adds an 87 to help Argyle Black secure the team championship.

Argyle Red also delivers a strong round of its own behind Corro’s 82. Maddie Wilson follows with a 95, while freshmen Ana Edwards and Ansleigh Mullins each shoot 97. Sophomore Allison Giese rounds out the Red team scoring with a 99.

More than anything, the day highlights Argyle’s ability to compete through adversity. RB Golf Club does not offer easy scoring in cold temperatures and heavy wind, yet the Lady Eagles stay composed, manage the conditions, and separate themselves from the rest of the district field.

That kind of performance matters this time of year.

With district play about to begin, Argyle not only wins the preview — it sends a clear message. The Lady Eagles bring experience, lineup depth, and the kind of competitive steadiness that travels well into postseason golf.

District play begins Monday, March 28, with the opening round at Robson Ranch. The second round follows Monday, April 4, back at RB Golf Club.
