LADY EAGLES BATTLE DEEP FIELD AT UIL GIRLS REGION I-5A TOURNAMENT

Lady Eagles Battle Deep Field at UIL Girls Region I-5A Tournament

ARGYLE LADY EAGLE GOLF

Argyle Lady Eagle Golf | 4/16/2025

The postseason stage is every bit as demanding as expected, and Argyle’s representatives answer it with resolve.

Competing at the UIL Girls Region I-5A Tournament at LakeRidge Country Club in Lubbock on April 14-15, 2025, Colbie Moses and Ana Edwards carry the Lady Eagles into one of the deepest and most competitive events on the high school calendar. With state-qualifying pressure, a loaded regional field, and two days of championship golf, the tournament offers little margin for error.

Moses delivers Argyle’s top finish, tying for 14th overall at 170 over 36 holes. She opens with an 80 in the first round and follows with a 90 in the second, staying inside the top 15 against a field filled with many of the top players in Region I. Edwards finishes tied for 39th at 186, posting matching rounds of 93 and 93 to cap a steady two-day performance.

For Argyle, the regional tournament becomes about more than scores alone. It becomes about competing in the kind of environment that defines the postseason — where every hole matters, every stretch of momentum can shift a leaderboard, and every round is played against elite competition.

That is clear from the top of the board. The individual title is shared at 151, with Colleyville Heritage’s Jurnee Lee, Joshua’s Kaylee Yuan, and Colleyville Heritage’s Audrey McCallum all finishing at seven over for the tournament. Amarillo’s Tyler Held follows at 152, while Aledo’s Emily Crick and Amarillo’s Kylee Demetro tie for fifth at 153. In that kind of field, Moses’ top-15 finish stands out as a strong showing for the Lady Eagles.

The team race reflects the same level of difficulty. Amarillo claims the regional title at 638, with Colleyville Heritage close behind at 642 and Grapevine third at 673. Every score has to be earned, and LakeRidge once again proves to be the kind of course that demands discipline, patience, and maturity over two long rounds.

For Moses and Edwards, the week in Lubbock serves as another reminder of what championship golf requires. Moses stays in the mix against many of the region’s best and finishes among the tournament’s top performers, while Edwards shows consistency across both rounds in a pressure-packed setting.

The results give Argyle a meaningful postseason benchmark and another chapter of experience on one of the biggest stages in Texas high school golf.
