The final stage of the season brought together one of the deepest fields in Texas high school golf, and Argyle answered with a strong finish against elite statewide competition.

At the 2024 UIL 5A State Tournament, the Lady Eagles tied for sixth place with a 36-hole total of 646, posting rounds of 327 and 319. That second-day improvement helped Argyle close the tournament on a strong note and finish alongside Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial in the final team standings.

San Antonio Alamo Heights claimed the state championship at 601, with Frisco Centennial close behind at 605. Amarillo finished third at 619, while Colleyville Heritage and Friendswood rounded out the top five before Argyle's tie for sixth.

For the Lady Eagles, the week was about more than final placement. It was another opportunity to test themselves against the best programs in the state, and Argyle showed the depth and resilience that carried it to the season's biggest stage.

Ryan Purczynski led the Lady Eagles with a 36-hole total of 154, carding rounds of 77 and 77 to finish tied for 21st individually. Kate Rendon followed with a 158 after improving from 81 in the opening round to 77 on day two. Ana Edwards posted a 165 with rounds of 84 and 81, while Alex Mara finished at 169 on rounds of 85 and 84. Colbie Moses rounded out the lineup with a 178, bouncing back with an 85 in the second round after an opening 93.

That balance across the lineup helped Argyle shave eight shots off its team score from the first day to the second, a sign of composure and competitiveness in a championship environment where every stroke matters.

The individual title went to Frisco Centennial's Tarini Bhoga at 136, while Comal Pieper's Dresden Bounds finished second at 138, and Amarillo's Charlee Thacker placed third at 143. Even in that kind of loaded field, Argyle's group continued to compete shot for shot and represented the program well from the opening round through the final holes.

A top-six finish at state is never accidental. It is built on consistency, depth, and the ability to respond under pressure. Argyle did all three, closing the season with another strong performance against the best 5A teams in Texas.
