Lady Eagles Track and Field Wins it All at Dave Park Relays

The Lady Eagles took home 1st place at the Dave Park Relays in Keller this Thursday. They scored 143 points to 2nd place Marcus' 118.33. It was an excellent showing by all Argyle track and field athletes among some of the steepest competition.
The day began with the field events, in which senior Ella Stanzel and junior Allie King took 4th and 5th in the high jump. Both cleared a height of 5-0. Also competing was sophomore Presli Prater, who jumped 4-8 for 10th.
Taking home the gold in the shot put was junior Emma King. She won it with a throw of 34-11.50. Also competing were sophomores Vanessa DeBanks and Joey Fowler. DeBanks threw 32-6 for 3rd, and Fowler placed 9th with a throw of 30-5.25. Also competing in the discus was sophomore Vanessa DeBanks, who took 1st place with a throw of 119-6. Additionally, junior Dylan Wyrick and sophomore Evangeline Edmonson went 1-2 in the pole vault. Wyrick placed 1st, clearing a height of 12-0, while Edmonson placed 2nd with 10-6.
The start of the running events was the 3200m run. Sophomore Madison Chapman took 2nd place with a great finish, running a time of 12:24.38. Also competing were freshmen Everlee Muckensturm and Addisyn McNatt. Muckensturm ran 13:08.18 for 8th, and McNatt ran 14:13.94 for 10th.
Next was the 4X100m relay, in which freshmen Adyson Padron and Annaka Ross, senior Blair Mosely, and sophomore Chelsea Nwaiwu took 2nd, finishing in a time of 48.17. The team also set a new school record.
Competing in the 800m run were junior Sadie Cotter and senior Emerson Payne. Cotter placed 7th, running a new PR of 2:29.31, while Payne ran 2:30.61 for 10th. Next was the 100m hurdles, in which sophomore Presli Prater and junior Berkley Burns took 2nd and 3rd. Prater ran 15.67, while Berkley set a new personal best of 16.13. Senior Ella Stanzel also set a new PR of 16.97, which earned her 6th overall.
Freshmen Adyson Padron and Ava Atkins took 3rd and 4th in the 100m run. Both ran new PR’s of 12.29 and 12.53 respectively. Also competing was freshman Annaka Ross, who ran 12.76 for 9th.
The Lady Eagles also took 2nd and 3rd in the 400m run. Sophomore Chelsea Nwaiwu and senior Blair Mosley set new personal bests, running 57.38 and 57.70 respectively. Also competing was junior Sadie Cotter, who set a new PR of 1:06.02.
Next was the 300m hurdles, in which junior Kate Brooks, sophomore Presli Prater, and junior Berkley Burns competed. Brooks and Prater took 4th and 5th, finishing in time of 48.24 and 50.07 respectively. Burns also ran 51.35 for 8th.
Competing in the 200m run were freshman Ava Atkins and sophomore Julia Allen. Atkins and Allen placed 8th and 9th, running 27.31 and 27.34 respectively.
Senior Sydney Lessley set a new PR in the 1600m run, placing 2nd with a time of 5:24.14. Also competing were senior Emerson Payne and freshman Everlee Muckensturm. Payne ran 5:36.66 for 12th, and Muckensturm set a new PR of 5:41.41 for 14th.
The night concluded with the 4X400m relay, which placed 4th overall. The team of sophomore Kacheral Meador, junior Eva Robinson, sophomore Deana Somers, and senior Blair Mosley finished in a time of 4:07.26.
Next week, the Lady Eagles will compete at the Southlake Carroll Invite on Thursday, April 2nd. A few qualifying individuals will compete at Texas Relays on Friday and Saturday (April 3rd & 4th).
