It was a beautiful day to compete, and the Lady Eagles came home the champions from the Aubrey Chaparral Relays. They earned a total of 210 points to 2nd place Guyer’s 120.
The day started out with the field events, where junior Allie King, senior Ella Stanzel, and sophomore Presli Prater took 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the high jump. King and Stanzel jumped 5-2, while Presli cleared a height of 5-0.
In discus, sophomore Vanessa DeBanks took home the gold with a throw of 122-3. Junior Emma King placed 1st in shot put as well, throwing a new school record of 36-6. Also competing were sophomores Joey Fowler and Vanessa DeBanks. Fowler threw 31-3.5 for 5th, and DeBanks threw 29-8.5 for 6th.
Junior Dylan Wyrick took 1st place in the pole vault with a jump of 12-0. Next was sophomore Evangeline Edmondson, who jumped 10-6 for 2nd. Also competing was freshman Isabella McCarty, who placed 6th with a jump of 7-6.
The running events began with the 3200m run, where freshman Everlee Muckensturm took 3rd place, finishing in a new personal best of 12:21.70. Also competing was freshman Addisyn McNatt, who placed 5th with a new PR of 13:19.23.
Competing in the 4X100m relays was the team of junior Kaia Tritthardt, senior Blair Mosley, sophomore Chelsea Nwaiwu, and junior Mallory Kuykendall. They placed 5th overall with a time of 51.02.
Senior Sydney Lessley took 2nd place in the 800m run, finishing in a time of 2:24.41. Also competing were senior Emerson Payne and junior Sadie Cotter, who ran 2:29.70 and 2:29.97 for 5th and 6th respectively.
Taking 1st and 2nd in the 100m hurdles were sophomore Presli Prater and junior Berkley Burns. They finished the race in 16.02 and 16.56. Also competing was Kate Brooks, who ran 17.73 for 8th.
The Lady Eagles 4X200m relay took 1st overall, running a time of 1:40.93. The winning team consisted of freshman Adyson Padron, sophomore Deana Somers, junior Eva Robinson, and sophomore Chelsea Nwaiwu.
Senior Blair Mosley ran a time of 58.17 to take 2nd place overall in the 400m dash. She was followed by sophomore Kacheral Meador, who ran 1:03.09 for 7th. Also competing was junior Sadie Cotter, who placed 12th with a time of 1:06.20.
Taking home the gold in the 300m hurdles was junior Kate Brooks. She finished the race in a time of 48.33. Also competing was sophomore Presli Prater, who ran 50:24 for 4th.
The Lady Eagles secured 1st, 2nd, and 4th in the 200m run. In 1st place was junior Eva Robinson, who finished in a time of 25.90. She was followed by freshman Adyson Padron, who ran 26.54 for 2nd. Also competing was junior Mallory Kuykendall, who ran 27.58 for 5th.
Senior Emerson Payne took 2nd place in the 1600m run, finishing in a time of 5:40.60. Next was freshman Everlee Muckensturm, who ran 5:50.87 for 5th.
Concluding the meet was the 4X400m relay, in which the Lady Eagles took 1st place. The team of junior Kate Brooks, sophomores Chelsea Nwaiwu and Deana Somers, and senior Blair Mosley finished the race in a time of 4:04.09.
Next week, the Lady Eagles will compete at the David Park Relays in Keller on Thursday, March 26th.
