It was a beautiful day for a track meet, and the Lady Eagles took 2nd place, scoring 157 points at the Aubrey Chaparral Relays.
The meet started with the field events, where freshmen Halima Jiya and Reagan McCullough took 2nd & 3rd in the high jump. Both athletes cleared a height of 4-6.
In the long jump, the freshman duo of Hailey Tucker and Janaya Harrison placed 5th and 6th. Tucker jumped 14-5 and Harrison jumped 14-3. Also competing was junior Ana Escorihuela, who jumped 12-8.75 for 11th.
Competing in discus were freshmen Dianna DeBanks, Jessica Pilli, and Deepshika Sundarajulu. DeBanks finished 4th, putting points on the board for the Lady Eagles, and throwing 79-6. Pilli and Sundarajulu threw 43-1 and 34-9 for 13th and 14th.
In the shot out, freshman Sophie Beaulieu threw 26-9 for 4th place. Also competing was sophomore Alekha Marottickel Jolly, who placed 8th with 23-9.
The running events began with the 3200m run. Competing for the Lady Eagles were junior Karson Riewerts and freshman Nicole Wilger. Riewerts finished 6th, running a time of 14:19.84. Also competing was freshman Nicole Wilger, who ran 15:40.60 for 8th.
The 4X100m relay came in first, clocking a time of 52.45. The winning team consisted of sophomores Kallie Vest, Berkley Patton, Bella Moes, and freshman Reagan McCullough.
In the 800m run, freshman Kobi Green made her debut with Lady Eagles track and field, running 2:37.47 for 2nd. Next was junior Ava Rogers, who placed 4th with a time of 2:43.50. Also competing was senior Lola Ola, who ran 2:51.89 for 6th.
Next was the 100m hurdles, in which the Lady Eagles competed freshman Halima Jiya, sophomore Sailor Farda, and freshman Abbie Gamblin. Jiya took 1st place, winning with a time of 17.29. She was followed by Farda, who ran 18.29 for 5th. Additionally, Gamblin placed 8th with a time of 18.66.
Scoring points in the 100m dash was sophomore Hannah Childs. She placed 3rd with a time of 13.74. Also competing was senior Londan Jordan, who ran 14.35 for 9th.
In the 4X200m relay, the team of sophomores Kallie Vest, Bella Moes, Berkley Patton, and freshman Reagan McCullough took 1st place. They finished the race in a time of 1:51.19.
Taking 3rd and 4th in the 400m dash were junior Natalia Crnecki and freshman Reagan Starkey. Crnecki ran 1:05.54, while Starkey finished in a time of 1:05.61. Also competing was freshman Kobi Green, who placed 6th with 1:08.37.
Competing in the 300m hurdles were sophomore Kate Gailey, freshman Halima Jiya, and sophomore Mackenzie Murphy. Gailey finished 3rd in a time of 52.98, Jiya placed 4th with 53.01, and Murphy finished 8th in 55.34.
Taking home the gold in the 200m dash was freshman Reagan McCullough, who finished in a time of 28.88. Also competing was sophomore Hannah Childs, who placed 5th with a time of 30.00.
In the 1600m run, junior Ava Rogers won the race, finishing in a new PR of 6:11.89. Also competing were junior Morgan Doremus and freshman Grace DeFilippo, who placed 9th and 10th. They finished the race in times of 6:48.74 and 6:52.63 respectively.
Finishing out the meet was the 4X400m relay. The team consisting of junior Natalia Crnecki, freshman Reagan Starkey, and sophomores Bella Moes and Berkley Patton placed 2nd overall with a time of 4:25.89.
Next week, the Lady Eagles will compete at the David Park Relays in Keller on Thursday, March 26th.
