It was a great day for the JV Lady Eagles at the Aledo Bearcat Relays. The team placed 3rd overall, accumulating 106 points.
The day started out with the field events, in which freshmen Reagan McCullough and Halima Jiya set new personal bests of 4-8, and 4-6 in the high jump. They placed 3rd and 4th respectively. Competing in the pole vault was freshman Isabella McCarty, who also set a new PR of 8-0, which earned her 3rd place overall. Additionally, sophomore Taylor Thomas took 2nd place in triple jump, setting a new PR of 32-6.
Competing in discus was the freshman trio of Jessica Pilli, Deepshika Sundarajulu, and Dianna DeBanks. Pilli set a new PR of 50-5.50 for 10th, while Sundarajulu placed 13th, throwing a new personal best of 34-8. DeBanks also threw 5-5 for 14th.
The running events began with the 3200m, in which Grace DeFilippo set a new PR of 13:53.69 for 9th place. This was followed by the 4X100m relay, in which the team of freshman Reagan McCullough, and sophomores Berkley Patton, Bella Moes, and Taylor Thomas placed 1st overall, running a time of 52.66.
Competing in the 800m were junior Ava Rogers, senior Lola Ola, and junior Morgan Doremus. Rogers placed 7th overall, running a new PR of 2:42.71. She was followed by Ola, who ran a new personal best of 2:54.35 for 11th place. Also competing was Doremus, who ran 3:02.22 for 18th.
In the 100m hurdles, freshman Halima Jiya placed 2nd overall, finishing in a time of 17.84. Also competing was freshman Abbie Gamblin, who ran 19.65 for 11th. Competing in the 100m dash were senior Londan Jordan and sophomore Hannah Childs. Jordan finished 5th with a time of 13.79, and Childs ran 14.02 for 9th.
The 4X200m relay placed 5th overall, running a time of 1:59.17. The team consisted of freshman Reagan McCullough, and sophomores Berkley Patton, Bella Moes, and Taylor Thomas.
Taking 1st and 2nd in the 400m run were freshman Reagan Starkey and junior Natalia Crnecki. Starkey finished in 1:05.93, while Crnecki ran 1:06.11. Also making her debut in the 400m was junior Morgan Doremus, who ran 1:12.72 for 16th.
Competing in the 300m hurdles were sophomore Kate Gailey and freshman Halima Jiya. They finished 7th and 8th respectively, running 54.32 and 54.59.
The Lady Eagles put 10 points on the board in the 200m dash. Freshman Reagan McCullough took 2nd with a new PR of 28.66, and sophomore Hannah Childs ran a personal best of 29.43 for 5th.
In the 1600m run, junior Ava Rogers set a new PR of 6:18.87 for 8th. Also competing was freshman Grace DeFilippo, who placed 20th overall, running a personal best of 6:36.71.
The night concluded with the 4X400m relay, in which junior Natalia Crnecki, freshman Reagan Starkey, and sophomores Bella Moes and Berkley Patton placed 1st, running a time of 4:30.39.
Next week, the Lady Eagles will compete at the Aubrey Chaparral Relays on Thursday, March 19th.
