It was a great day for Lady Eagles track and field on Thursday, where the girls Varsity team placed 3rd overall with a score of 103 points. We also had an opportunity to recognize our seniors at home.
The afternoon commenced with the field events. Competing in discus was sophomore Vanessa DeBanks, who placed 5th with a throw of 109-04. Making her debut with Argyle track and field was sophomore Joey Fowler, who placed 8th with a throw of 29-04.50. Also competing was junior Grace Munster, who placed 14th with a throw of 23-11.50.
In the high jump, senior Ella Stanzel placed 2nd with a jump of 5-04.00. Also competing were sophomore Presli Prater and freshman Grace Munster. Prater finished 8th with a jump of 4-08.00, while Munster also jumped 4-08.00 for 10th.
Competing in the triple jump were junior Berkley Burns and sophomore Kallie Vest. They placed 8th and 9th respectively, jumping 32-05.00 and 32-00.00. In the long jump, sophomore Chelsea Nwaiwu placed 4th with a jump of 16-10.00. Also competing were junior Berkley Burns and sophomore Kach Meador. Burns jumped 15-11.00 for 7th, while Meador placed 14th with a jump of 14-09.00.
Taking the gold in the Varsity pole vault was junior Dylan Wyrick, who jumped 12-00.00.

The running events began with the 3200m run, in which Madison Chapman placed 10th with a time of 12:11.63. Next was Everlee Muckensturm with a new PR of 12:46.05, which earned her 15th. Also competing was freshman Addisyn McNatt, who placed 17th with a time of 14:03.89.
This was followed by the 4X100m relay, in which the Lady Eagles placed 3rd overall. The team of freshman Adyson Padron, junior Kaia Tritthardt, freshman Annaka Ross, and sophomore Chelsea Nwaiwu finished in a time of 48.74.
This was followed by the Varsity girls 800m, where senior Sydney Lessley placed 6th with a new PR of 2:30.29. Next was Emerson Payne, who placed 10th with a new personal best of 2:33.49. Also competing was junior Sadie Cotter, who ran 2:39.50 for 13th.
Taking 2nd place in the 200m hurdles was sophomore Presli Prater. Prater finished with a time of 16.79. She was followed by junior Berkley Burns, who ran 17.45 for 5th. Also competing was senior Ella Stanzel, who placed 7th with a time of 17.63.
Taking home the gold in the 100m dash was sophomore Chelsea Nwaiwu, who finished in a time of 12.38. Following her was freshman Ava Atkins, who finished 4th with 12.84. Next was sophomore Julia Allen, who ran 13.22 for 8th.
The Lady Eagles 4X200m relay took 2nd place overall, running a time of 1:45.06. The team consisted of Adyson Padron, junior Eva Robinson, sophomore Deana Somers, and junior Kaia Tritthard.
This was followed by the 400m run, where junior Sadie Cotter set a new PR of 1:07.66 to place 16th. In the 300m hurdles, junior Berkeley Burns took 3rd place, finishing in 48.16. She was followed by junior Kate Brooks, who placed 5th with a time of 49.55.
This was followed by the 200m dash, where sophomore Chelesa Nwaiwu took home the gold with a time of 25.67. She was followed by freshman Ava Atkins, who placed 7th with a time of 27.18. Also competing was sophomore Julia Allen, who ran 27.45 for 9th.
Competing for the Lady Eagles in the 1600m run were sophomore Madison Chapman, senior Emerson Payne, and freshman Everlee Muckensturm. Chapman placed 10th with a time of 5:33.57. Payne set a new PR of 5:37.05 to place 14th. Muckensturm also set a new PR, placing 19th with a time of 5:49.95.
The 4X400m team finished in a time of 4:13.34, placing 4th overall. The team consisted of junior Kaia Tritthardt, sophomore Kach Meador, freshman Annaka Ross, and sophomore Deana Somers.
It was a great day for the Lady Eagles Track and Field Team. Next week, they will compete at the Keller Fossil Ridge Relays on Thursday.
