It was a beautiful day to host a track meet on our home turf on Thursday. The JV girls team placed 6th overall with a score of 51 points.
The competition commenced with the field events. Competing in the high jump were freshmen Halima Jiya and Reagan McCullough. They finished 9th and 10th respectively with new PR’s of 4-4 and 4-2.
Competing in the long jump were freshman Janaya Harrison, junior Ana Escorihuela, and Freshman Hailey Tucker. Harrison placed 8th with a new PR of 13-11.75. Escorihuela and Tucker finished 18th and 19th respectively, jumping 13-03.5 and 12-10.00. Escorihuela also competed in triple jump, where she finished 12th with a jump of 27-0.50.
In shot put, sophomore Alekha Marottickel Jolly placed 12th with a throw of 22-0.200. Also competing was freshman Jessica Pilli, who threw 21-05.00 for 15th. Competing in pole vault was Isabella McCarty, who jumped 7-00.00 for 4th.
The running events began with the 3200m. Competing for Argyle was senior Lola Ola & junior Sahasra Tiyyagura. Ola ran a new PR of 15:28.18 for 14th, while Tiyaggura finished in a time of 16:32.06 for 17th.
Following the 3200m was the 4X100m relay, where the Lady Eagles took 3rd with a time of 53.21. The team consisted of freshman Reagan McCollough, sophomore Burkley Patton, and sophomores Bella Moes and Katie Killoran.
Next was the 800m run, in which juniors Ava Rogers, Morgan Doremus, and Reese Hennigan. Rogers ran 2:45.57 for 10th, Doremus ran a new PR of 2:54.37 for 14th, and Hennigan finished 19th with a time of 3:04.87.
This was followed by the 100m hurdles, in which sophomore Halima Jiya placed 3rd overall. She finished in a time of 18.53. Following closely behind was sophomore Sailor Farda, who ran 18.69 for 4th. Also competing was sophomore Mackenzie Murphy, who placed 9th with a time of 19.41.
Placing 4th in the 100m dash was sophomore Katie Killoran, who finished with a time of 13.77. Next was sophomore Hannah Childs, who ran 14.15 for 8th. She was followed by freshman Reagan Starkey, who placed 10th with a time of 14.16.
Next, the Lady Eagles 4X200m placed 5th overall with a time of 1:54.65. The team consisted of freshman Reagan McCollough, sophomores Berkley Patton, Bella Moes, and Kallie Vest.
Taking home the gold medal in the 400m dash was sophomore Natalia Crnecki, who finished in a time of 1:06.06. This was a PR for Crnecki.
Competing in the 300m hurdles was sophomore Mackenzie Murphy, who placed 8th with a time of 54.47. In the open 200m, freshman Halima Jiya placed 11th with a time of 29.29. Also competing was sophomore Hannah Childs, who ran 30.06 for 16th.
Next was the 1600m run, in which juniors Ava Rogers, Morgan Doremus, and Reese Hennigan competed for Argyle. Rogers ran 6:36.23 for 18th, while Doremus placed 19th with a time of 6:50.35. Hennigan ran a time of 7:12.64 for 24th.
The night concluded with the 4X400m relay, in which sophomore Halima Jiya, senior Sydney Lessley, and sophomores Bella Moes and Berkley Patton placed 4th with a time of 4:32.64.
Next week, the Lady Eagles will compete at the Keller Fossil Ridge Relays on Thursday.
