Game story ARGYLE – Maguire Gasperson threw for four first-half touchdowns and ran for another, as Argyle defeated Everman, 65-17, Friday night at Eagle Stadium. Gasperson connected with four different receivers in the half, as Argyle (4-1, 3-0 3-5A Div II) had over 300 yards of total offense, which not only included Gasperson’s rushing score, but two more from Nathaniel Bruce and Obediah Gable. Nathaniel Bruce’s 14-yard touchdown helped Argyle, the No 6. ranked team in the Dallas Mornings News’ 5A area rankings, jumped on top early, as they led Everman (1-5, 1-3 3-5A Div II) 30-0 after the first quarter en route to a 51-7 halftime lead, after Gasperson connected with Max Bland on a four yard pass, late in the second quarter. On their first possession in the third quarter, Argyle’s backup quarterback Preston Robinson connected with Colton Bacon on a 26-yard touchdown strike, before Everman kicker Suraya Alvarez-Holmes connected on a 26-yard field goal in the third quarter. In the fourth, both teams traded touchdowns as Robinson found Goble on a 13-yard pass and Everman quarterback Princton Roberts scored from two yards out. Argyle finished with 541 yards of total offense, with Gasperson leading the way with 247 yards through the air and Ryan Nelson’s 60 yards on the ground. As for Everman, they were led by Barrington Stricklin’s 97 yards receiving and Roberts’ 196 total yards and two scores.
