Lady Eagles Compete in Lady Pirate Fall Invitational at Harbor Lakes

The Argyle Lady Eagles open the new season with a strong early test at the Lady Pirate Fall Invitational, finishing 10th overall on Sept. 26-27 at Harbor Lakes Golf Club in Granbury.

Competing in a 20-team field, the Lady Eagles post a 36-hole team total of 704 and begin the fall with a valuable weekend against quality competition. As the first event of the year, the tournament gives Argyle an important opportunity to settle into the season, evaluate the lineup, and begin building momentum.

The Lady Eagles lean on senior leadership from the start.

Alex Mara delivers one of the team’s top performances of the tournament, opening with an 84 before closing with an impressive 77 in the second round. Colbie Moses also provides steady scoring across both days, carding rounds of 85 and 80 to give Argyle another dependable presence near the top of the lineup.

The rest of the group begins the year with encouraging performances as well.

Lily Bayer improves in the final round, following a 97 with a 91, while Sloane McMellian posts rounds of 96 and 98. Sophomore Hailey Perkins makes her varsity two-day tournament debut and handles the moment well, shooting 100 and 94.

For Argyle, the opening event offers more than a place in the standings. It provides meaningful early-season rounds, a strong look at the team’s senior core, and a chance for younger players to step into larger roles. Against a deep field, the Lady Eagles begin the season with experience that can pay off as the fall moves forward.

Next, Argyle heads west to Abilene for a unique match-play event against Abilene High, Abilene Cooper, and Abilene Wylie. The head-to-head format gives the Lady Eagles another opportunity to sharpen their competitive edge while gaining valuable match-play experience.
