Lady Eagles Finish 3rd at 7-5A District Tournament, Moses and Edwards Advance to Regionals
March 31–April 1, 2025
Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch – North & South Courses
The Argyle Lady Eagles capped off an impressive district tournament performance with a 3rd place finish at the 7-5A District Championship, held over two days on the North and South courses of Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch. The team fired rounds of 359 and 337 for a two-day total of 696, finishing behind district champions Colleyville Heritage and runner-up Grapevine.
Argyle’s 22-stroke improvement from round one to round two was one of the largest turnarounds of the season, highlighting the team’s resilience and ability to adapt under pressure.
Individual Highlights
Leading the way for the Lady Eagles was Colbie Moses, who shot a pair of outstanding rounds—79 and 76—to finish 3rd overall in the individual standings. Ana Edwards also put together two consistent rounds of 83 and 82, finishing in 7th place. Both Moses and Edwards earned All-District honors and qualified as individual medalists for the 5A Region I Tournament in Lubbock.
Other team contributions came from Ansleigh Mullins (95-89), Lily Bayer (97-90), and Sloane McMellian (100-108), all of whom played important roles in the team’s strong second-round finish.
In medalist play, Emerson Fischer impressed with rounds of 96 and 93. Sophia Estrada (112-98) and Morgan Kempton (99-103) also represented Argyle with solid efforts throughout the two-day event.
Next Stop: Regionals in Lubbock
Colbie Moses and Ana Edwards will now turn their attention to the 5A Region I Tournament, held later this month at LakeRidge Country Club in Lubbock—the same course the team visited in early March for a regional preview. With the experience of that event under their belts, both golfers are well-positioned to compete at a high level and potentially earn a berth to the UIL 5A State Tournament in May.
