Day one of the District 6-5A Championships began with a few field events. In the JV girls triple jump, senior Natalie Bartocci placed 10th with 26-10.50.
The first of the running events was the 3200m run. Sophomore Karson Riewerts and junior Ariana Hernandez took 7th and 8th, running times of 13:41.04 and 13:42.65 respectively. Also competing was freshman Jordan Augenstein, who ran 14:35.37 for 12th.
Prelims were held for the 100m hurdles, 100m, 400m, 300m hurdles, and the 200m. In the 100m, junior Londan Jordan and freshman Katie Killoren advanced to the finals with 7th and 8th place finishes. Both athletes finished with a time of 13.92. Also competing was freshman Hannah Childs, who set a new personal best in the 100m. She ran 14.07 for 10th.
Advancing in the 400m was sophomore Berkley Patton, who placed 3rd with a new PR of 1:05.56. Freshman Hannah Childs also set a new personal best of 1:07.52 for a 7th place finish. She will also be moving on to Day 2. Additionally, freshman Bella Moes finished 14th with a time of 1:10.50.
In the 300m hurdles, the Lady Eagles competed sophomore Kate Lane. She finished 3rd with a new personal best of 53:00, earning her way into the finals. The 200m dash was led by freshman Julia Allen, who placed 2nd with a new PR of 27.39 to secure her spot. Also competing was sophomore Natalia Crnecki, who placed 9th with a personal best of 29.11.
