It was a warm and windy day at the Southlake Carroll Dragon Relays, where the JV girls placed 6th overall.
A few field events, including the throws, took place early on. In shot put, freshman Alekha Marrottickel-Jolly placed 15th with a throw of 19-9.50.
The running events began with the 3200m run. Sophomore Karson Riewerts placed 11th with a time of 13:36.86, while junior Ariana Hernandez placed 12th with 13:54.59. Also competing was freshman Jordan Augenstein, who ran a new PR of 14:26.92. Augenstein placed 14th and took 20 seconds off her previous time.
This was followed by the 4X100m relay. Freshmen Katie Killoren, Hannah Childs, senior Natalie Bartocci, and freshman Berkley Burns placed 4th with a time of 53.75.
In the 800m run, the duo of freshman Bella Moes and junior London Fry took 16th and 17th. They ran times of 2:53.57 and 2:53.88 respectively. Also competing were junior Margaret Schmidt and sophomore Reese Hennigan. Schmidt ran 3:03.93 for 20th and Hennigan placed 21st with 3:14.93.
Competing in the 400m dash were freshmen Hannah Childs and Bella Moes. Childs placed 10th with 1:09.36, while Moes ran 1:14.16 for 15th. Sophomore Kate Lane competed for the Lady Eagles in the 300m hurdles. She ran 57.27, placing 10th overall. Sophomore Berkley Burns put points on the board for the team in the 200m dash, placing 4th, and running a personal best of 27.72.
In the 1600m run, sophomore Karson Riewerts set a new PR of 6:13.90 for 11th place. Junior Ariana Hernandez was next and placed 17th with a time of 6:23.78. Also competing were freshman Jordan Augenstein and junior Margaret Schmidt. They placed 19th and 20th and ran 6:44.36 and 7:04.59 respectively.
The afternoon concluded with the field events, where senior Natalie Bartocci jumped 11-6 in the long jump for 15th. Bartocci also jumped a new personal best of 26-8 in the triple jump to place 12th.
Next week, the Lady Eagles will compete at the District 6-5A Championships on Wednesday and Thursday, April 2nd & 3rd.
