The Lady Eagles Track and Field team took 6th place at the Lewisville Goldsmith relays. They competed against many local teams from the Denton, Flower Mound, and Keller areas.
A windy morning began with the 3200m run. Freshman Madison Chapman was the first to put points on the board for the Lady Eagles with her 3rd place finish. She completed the race in 12:05.54. Also competing was Avery Cain, who placed 9th with a time of 14:18.66
Several athletes also put points on the board in the throwing events. Emma King placed 5th place in the shot put with a throw of 32-6.50, while freshman Vanessa DeBanks placed 6th in discus with 103-3.
In the jumping events, senior Zoey Tait set a new PR in the long jump. She placed 10th with 16-0. Also competing was freshman Chelsea Nwaiwu, who placed 15th with 15-1. Junior Ella Stanzel placed 3rd in the high jump, clearing 5-2. Also competing was junior Teagan Tarrant, who cleared 4-10 to place 13th.
In the pole vault, senior Peyton Berry and sophomore Dylan Wyrick took 1st and 2nd. Berry jumped a new PR of 12-6, while Wyrick tied her personal best of 11-0.
The meet also featured one unique event before the regular afternoon running schedule. This was the sprint medley relay, which includes two 200m legs, a 400m, and an 800m. Competing for Argyle were sophomore Eva Robinson, junior Alexa Garcia, sophomore Ayla Feely, and senior Sophie Deneault. They finished 2nd with a time of 4:37.06.
The regular afternoon running events began with the 4X100m relay, which included senior Estelle Davis, freshman Chelsea Nwaiwu, sophomore Saige Soell, and senior Bella Jeffreys. They came in 6th, running a time of 49.54.
In the 800m run, junior Emerson Payne, senior Sophie Deneault, and sophomore Sadie Cotter placed 7th, 8th, and 9th. They finished the race in times of 2:36.28, 2:37.88, and 2:40.59 respectively.
Senior Zoey Tait led the way with a new PR of 16.91 in the 100m hurdles, placing 10th overall. Close behind was freshman Presli Prater, who ran 16.95 for 11th. Also competing was sophomore Kate Brooks, who placed 14th with a time of 18.03.
In the open 100m, senior Estelle Davis placed 16th with a time of 12.93. Next was junior Blair Mosley, who ran a PR of 12.95 for 18th. Also competing was senior Bella Jeffreys, who finished 22nd with a time of 13.03.
Next was the 4X200m relay. Competing for the Lady Eagles were sophomores Eva Robinson and Saige Soell, and freshmen Kach Meador and Chelsea Nwaiwu. They finished 3rd with a time of 1:44.54.
In the 400m dash, junior Blair Mosley led the team with her 4th-place finish. Mosley ran a new personal best of 1:00.06. Next was senior Bella Jeffreys, who ran 1:04.47 for 13th. Also competing was junior Ayla Feely, who placed 19th with a time of 1:07.78.
Competing in the 300m hurdles were sophomore Kate Brooks and freshman Presli Prater. They placed 7th & 11th, running 49.23 and 51.58 respectively. In the 200m run, sophomore Eva Robinson placed 8th with a time of 27.02, junior Alexa Garcia finished 16th with 28.04, and Zoe Jackson ran 28.29 for 19th.
Junior Emerson Payne and sophomore Sadie Cotter competed in the 1600m run. They put points on the board for the Lady Eagles, placing 3rd and 4th. They finished the race in times of 5:57.48 and 5:58.93 respectively.
Concluding the night was the 4X400m relay, in which freshman Chelsea Nwaiwu, senior Zoe Jackson, freshman Kach Meador, and junior Blair Mosley placed 3rd with a time of 4:02.66.
Next week will be the final pre-season meet leading up to District. Some of the Lady Eagles will compete at the Southlake Carroll Invitational next Thursday. Several have also qualified for the 96th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, and will compete on Friday and Saturday.
