The JV Lady Eagles Track and Field team took 6th place in a deep field, competing against several 5A & 6A schools at the Lewisville Goldsmith relays yesterday.
A windy morning began with the 3200m run. Sophomore Karson Riewerts placed 6th with a time of 13:57.06, putting the first points on the board for the team. Also competing were junior Ariana Hernandez and freshman Jordan Augenstein. Hernandez ran 14:19.17 for 8th place, while Augenstein finished 9th with 14:46.54.
In the JV shot put, freshman Alekha Marottickel Jolly placed 21st with a throw of 20-2.50. In the triple jump, the Lady Eagles took 8th, 9th, & 11th. Freshman Kate Gaily competed for the first time and placed 8th with a jump of 29-7. She was followed by freshmen Kallie Vest & Sailor Farda. Vest and Farda jumped 29-2.50 and 28-7.50 respectively. Additionally, senior Natalie Bartocci placed 14th in the long jump with a new PR of 13-6.50.
In the high jump, sophomore Allie King and freshman Presli Prater both jumped 4-10 for 2nd and 4th.
The meet also featured one unique event before the regular afternoon running schedule. This was the sprint medley relay, which includes two 200m legs, a 400m, and an 800m. Competing for Argyle were freshman Kallie Vest, and sophomores Kensley Vest, Landry Murphy, and Aoife Journagan. They placed 1st with a time of 4:47.72.
As for the afternoon events, the meet started with the 4X100m relay. Competing for Argyle were sophomore Kaia Tritthardt, and freshmen Julia Allen, Sailor Farda, and Deana Somers. They placed 2nd overall, running a time of 51.17.
Next was the 800m run. Sophomore London Fry and freshman Bella Moes competed in a tough field. Fry placed 13th with a time of 2:53.44, and Moes finished 18th, running 3:00.06. Freshman Sailor Farda also placed 13th in the 100m hurdles, completing the race with a time of 18.47.
In the 4X200m relay, sophomores Kensley Vest and Landry Murphy, and freshmen Julia Allen and Deana Somers placed 4th, running a time of 1:52.67. In the open 400m, freshman Burkley Patton also took 7th place, running a new personal best of 1:06.83.
Sophomore Kate Lane and freshman Sailor Farda competed for the Lady Eagles in the 300m hurdles. Lane ran 56.68 for 17th, while Farda ran a personal best of 57.60 for 20th.
Sophomore Kaia Tritthardt took home the gold in the open 200m with a new PR of 27.17. Freshman Julia Allen also put points on the board for the team, placing 3rd with a personal best of 27.61.
Leading the Lady Eagles in the 1600m run was sophomore Karson Riewerts. She placed 6th with a new PR of 6:14.35. Also competing were junior Ariana Hernandez and freshman Jordan Augenstein, who placed 11th and 12th. They finished the race in 6:28.21 and 6:33.67. This was a new 13-second PR for Augenstein.
The night concluded with the 4X400m relay. Sophomores Kaia Tritthardt, Landry Murphy, Kensley Vest, and freshman Deana Somers placed 3rd overall. They finished in a time of 4:17.18.
Next week will be the final pre-season meet leading up to District. The Lady Eagles will compete at the Southlake Carroll Invitational next Thursday.
