The JV girls competed at the Aledo Bearcat Relays on Thursday night, scoring 95.5 points to take 5th place as a team.
The day began with the field events, where sophomore Allie King set her PR in high jump. King cleared 5-0 to take home the gold. Also competing was freshman Taylor Thomas, who placed 13th in the JV long jump, setting a new PR of 13-5.
Competing in triple jump, the Lady Eagles had freshmen Kallie Vest, Sailor Farda, and junior Kamryn Johnson. They jumped 30-6, 30-0, and 27-0.50, placing 5th, 7th, and 12th respectively. This was a new PR for Johnson.
The running events began with the 3200m run, where sophomore Karson Riewerts and junior Ariana Hernandez placed 9th & 10th, running times of 13:40.5 and 13:49.99 respectively. Also competing was freshman Jordan Augenstein, who placed 18th, and set a new personal best of 14:46.40.
Next was the JV girl's 4X100m relay, in which junior LeiLani De Leon, freshmen Deana Somers, and Julia Allen, and sophomore Kaia Tritthardt placed 1st with a time of 50.95.
In the 800m run, sophomore Sadie Cotter placed 3rd, running a time of 2:34.62. She was followed by sophomore Aoife Journagan, who ran 2:39.99 for 5th. Also competing was junior London Fry, who ran 2:53.80 for 14th.
Competing in the 100m hurdles was freshman Sailor Farda, who placed 5th with a new PR of 19.09. In the JV 100m dash, sophomore Berkley Burns also placed 5th, running a new personal best of 13.56. Also competing were junior Londan Jordan and freshman Katie Killoren. They ran times of 14.02 and 14.48 to take 10th and 19th respectively. This was a new PR for Killoren.
The Lady Eagles took 1st place once again in the 4X200m relay. The team consisting of freshmen Kallie Vest, Deana Somers, Julia Allen, and sophomore Kaia Tritthardt finished in a time of 1:49.99.
Leading the way for the Lady Eagles in the 400m run was junior LeiLani De Leon. She placed 4th, running a time of 1:07.13. Also competing were sophomore Aoife Journagan and freshman Bella Moes, who finished 8th and 9th with times of 1:08.93 and 1:09.08. This was a new PR for Moes.
Sophomore Kate Lane and freshman Sailor Farda competed in the 300m hurdles. Lane took 10th place with a time of 55.61, while Farda finished 14th with 57.95; both athletes achieved new personal records.
In the 200m dash, freshman Julia Allen placed 2nd with a new PR of 27.76. She was followed by freshman Kallie Vest, who ran 29.46 for 10th. Also competing was sophomore Landry Murphy, who ran 29.59 for a 12th place finish.
Junior Ariana Hernandez and freshman Jordan Augenstein came back from the 3200m to double in the 1600m run. Both set new personal bests, with Hernandez running 6:13.69 for 9th, and Augenstein running 6:47.47 for 18th.
Finishing out the night was the JV girls 4X400m. Sophomores Kaia Tritthardt, Berkeley Burns, Aoife Journagan, and freshman Deana Somers ran 4:26.47 to secure a first-place finish; this meant that the Lady Eagles claimed the title in all three relays.
The Lady Eagles will compete next at the Lewisville Goldsmith Relays on Friday, March 21st.
