Lady Eagles Compete at 5A State Preview in Georgetown
November 1-2, 2024
Legacy Hills Golf Course – Georgetown, Texas

The Argyle Lady Eagles golf team took on a challenging field at the 5A State Preview at Legacy Hills Golf Course in Georgetown, Texas, on November 1-2. Facing tough course conditions and a highly competitive lineup of teams, the Lady Eagles finished 12th overall with a two-day total of 741 (363-378).

Individual Performances
Ana Edwards led the team with rounds of 82-87, showcasing her steady play on a demanding course. Colbie Moses followed closely behind, improving on day two with rounds of 91-88. Ansleigh Mullins contributed with a 91-97 finish, while Lily Bayer shot 99-106. Sloane McMellian rounded out the team’s efforts with a 103-111 total.

A Learning Experience
The State Preview provided the Lady Eagles with a valuable opportunity to test themselves against some of the best teams in Texas and gain experience on the course that will host the 5A State Championship later in the season. Though the team faced challenges, the tournament served as a stepping stone for future growth as they continued working toward their season goals.

The Lady Eagles will now take a break from competition until the spring season begins in February. They will use the winter months to refine their skills and prepare for the district tournament, which is set for the first week of April. With hard work and dedication, the team looks to make a strong push toward postseason success.
