JV Lady Eagles Take 5th at Argyle Relays

The Lady Eagles placed 5th on Saturday on our home turf at the Argyle Relays.

The cool morning began with the 3200m run, where junior Ariana Hernandez placed 12th with a time of 13:45.73. This was followed by the JV girls 4X100m relay. The team, consisting of freshman Taylor Thomas, Deana Somers, Sailor Farda, and sophomore Kaia Tritthardt took 4th place, with a time of 52.87; They were the first 5A school to finish.
Next was the JV 800m run, in which all three Argyle competitors ran new personal bests. Freshman Sophia Gomez placed 3rd, running 2:31.90. Juniors London Fry and Margaret Schmidt finished 13th and 14th, running 2:51.73 and 2:51.76 respectively.
Competing in the girls 100m hurdles was freshman Sailor Farda, who finished in a personal best of 19.93 to place 8th in the event. Next was the 100m dash, in which freshman Hannah Childs, sophomore Isela Avila-Pachon, and senior Natalie Bartocci all ran new personal bests. Childs finished in 14.17 for 7th, Avila-Pachon ran 14.73 for 16th, and Bartocci placed 18th with 14.82.
The JV girls 4X200m brought home the gold with a time of 1:51.72. The 1st place team consisted of freshmen Taylor Thomas, Deana Somers, Kallie Vest, and sophomore Kaia Tritthardt.
In the JV open 400m were freshmen Berkley Patton and Hannah Childs, both of which ran new PR’s. Patton ran 1:07.62 for 7th, while Childs finished 9th in 1:08.48. Competing for the Lady Eagles in the 300m hurdles was freshman Sailor Farda. She ran a new PR of 58.09 for 11th place.
Freshman Taylor Thomas led the team in the 200m dash. She ran a new PR of 28.08 for 4th place. Also running a new personal best was freshman Kallie Vest, who ran 30.08 for 12th.
In the JV girls 3200m, junior Ariana Hernandez ran 6:27.29 for 14th, while junior Margaret Schmidt finished with a time of 6:43.21 for 16th.
The JV 4X400m completed the running events. The Lady Eagles placed 3rd overall. The team of sophomore Kaia Tritthardt, and freshmen Berkley Patton, Sofia Gomez, and Deana Somers completed the race in a time of 4:27.28.
Freshman Vanessa DeBanks also took 8th place in the shot put, throwing 22-4.50, and 1st in discus with a throw of 94-1.
