Lady Eagles Shine at Home Invitational and Prep for District Play
March 21–22, 2025
Argyle Lady Eagle Invitational – Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch
The Argyle Lady Eagles use their home tournament as exactly what a contender wants this time of year — a proving ground.
Hosting the Argyle Lady Eagle Invitational on March 21-22 at Wildhorse Golf Club at Robson Ranch, Argyle gets a valuable two-day district preview and one final competitive test before postseason play begins. With the District 7-5A Tournament set for the same course just days later, the event gives the Lady Eagles a critical opportunity to sharpen their game in familiar surroundings.
Argyle answers with a strong team performance, finishing third behind district rivals Colleyville Heritage and Sulphur Springs. More importantly, the Lady Eagles gain meaningful reps on their home course and continue building momentum heading into the most important stretch of the season.
Colbie Moses leads the way with another steady two-day performance, carding rounds of 81 and 84 to finish fourth individually. Ana Edwards stays close behind, posting scores of 84 and 85 to tie for sixth overall and give Argyle a strong one-two presence near the top of the leaderboard.
The rest of the lineup adds encouraging signs as well.
Ansleigh Mullins opens with an impressive 84 in the first round before adding a 92 on day two. Lily Bayer shows strong improvement across the tournament, following a 98 with a 90 in the final round, while Sloane McMellian also bounces back nicely, trimming eight shots from her opening-round 102 to shoot a 94 on day two.
The invitational also serves another important purpose for the program.
With district spots still on the line, Argyle’s medalist golfers use the event to compete for places on the postseason roster. Emerson Fischer, Sophia Estrada, and Morgan Kempton make the most of that opportunity, each posting qualifying scores and earning spots in the lineup for the upcoming District 7-5A Championship.
That gives the tournament added weight beyond the team finish. For Argyle, the weekend becomes both a dress rehearsal and an internal competition, sharpening the varsity group while also finalizing the roster that will carry the Lady Eagles into district play.
Now the focus turns fully to the postseason.
Argyle returns to Wildhorse Golf Club on March 31-April 1 for the District 7-5A Tournament, where the Lady Eagles look to build on their home-course experience and challenge a strong district field that includes Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine. With momentum building and valuable rounds behind them, Argyle heads into district play with confidence and purpose.
COMPETE WITH JOY
